will.i.am fights global poverty with Fergie and Scarlett Johansson
will.i.am is a very good example for all the other ignorant famous people. He doesn’t settle only with taking money. He is a promoter for many social campaigns and an active sustainer of the global poverty fight.
After releasing the star-studded pro-Barack Obama videos “Yes We Can” and “We Are the Ones,” will.i.am has rallied Fergie, Scarlett Johansson, and other celebrities for a new mission: to fight global poverty.
The Black Eyed Peas frontman, has written the song “in my name” to support Global Call to Action Against Poverty. The tune encourages citizens to call on their governments to keep their promises to the world’s poor. So after all it’s in our hands to change things.
”We can be the generation that ends poverty”, will.i.am says. You can watch the seven minute video on inmyname.com. THe video also features Wyclef Jean and Kristin Davis, among others, and can alos be watched on MTV . The release coincides with the start of the United Nations Millennium Development Goals summit.
“Politicians promised in 2000 to halve poverty in 15 years,” explains will.i.am. “They made this pledge in my name, now they must act to achieve it.”
