Cameron Diaz paid tribute to her late father, Emilio, at a special screening of her star-making turn in There’s Something About Mary, pointing out a cameo by her dad in the 1998 film.

She said that her father appeared in the movie for two seconds. The 36 year-old actress told this to the audience while introducing the film at the Target Presents AFI Night at the Movies event at Hollywood’s ArcLight Cinemas.

“My father just passed away recently,” she explained, recalling Emilio Diaz’s death from pneumonia in April. “He’s the dude when Ben Stiller is leaving the jail and all the guys run afterwards – my dad has the long black-silver hair down to here who’s hamming it up in the front.”

After this she playfully imitated her father’s performance with a zesty “Yeeeeaaah!” that prompted applause from the crowd. “That’s my dad, so would you all just say hi to him, because it’s one of the few moments that we have of him immortalized on film.”

Diaz left the theater before her father’s on-screen appearance, but the audience members spotted the scene that she emphasized earlier about.

Well, it seems that the one celebrity who is also a good Samaritean is none other than Cameron Diaz. What was her activities for this weekend?Finding a dog, rescuing it, taking care of it….The 35 year old actress cared the dog at her Hollywood residence while her assistant was trying to find the owner. They even posted notices about the found pet around her residential area.

“Cameron and a friend were involved in returning an injured dog to its owner,” Diaz’s rep Brad Cafarelli confirmed.

A source declared that Cameron brought the dog in her house and gave it food and water: “Her assistant posted a ‘found German shepherd’ sign and [the dog's owner] – Diaz’s neighbor who was driving around the area – came across it.”

After the dog was taken by its rightful owner, Diaz decided to pay it a visit to the vet, where it was treated. Here is a proof that Hollywood stars have also a good heart. Way to go Cam!

According to reports, Cameron Diaz and John Meyer are dating again. An insider claims Diaz and Meyer are back together as the actress visited the singer in his hotel room.

“Cameron went into John’s room and didn’t emerge for about three hours,” said hotel source. “When she finally came out, she has a massive grin on her face.”

Meyer recently admitted to having a strong desire to settle down and get married. “I think about my wife all the time. I kind of obsess on it. When I find the person I can relate to and who is a pin-up and who says ‘Can I please take pictures of you behind?’ then I am going to get married to her,” he says. “That I can promise you.”

John Mayer worked up quite a sweat at his Santa Monica gym on Tuesday afternoon before Sushi dinner at Katsuya. We know he’s quite the fitness buff , but has been without a female workout partner over the last few months. Since I’m sure that’s something he wants from the highly desired future Mrs. Mayer, may I suggest that he sticks with his rumored flame Cameron Diaz. She seems to have the sense of humor to go with the physical fitness, which has to be a plus.

It’s a real estate showdown! Cameron Diaz and Ellen Pompeo are reportedly in a bidding war over a $5.5 million apartment in Chelsea. If you come to think about it, Cameron would look good living there, but there’s no need for Ellen to have such a ridiculous fight since Grey’s Anatomy is being filmed in LA.

The “apartment” has four bedrooms, four baths, and six private terraces. That’s like, unheard of in New York! You all know the rent is outrageous in the Big Apple and this apartment is pure luxury. However you might have figured that out from the price. But Ellen and Cameron don’t exactly need to worry about that, now do they? Reportedly, the four bedroom, four bath Chelsea Club apartment has been visited by the two actresses and the result might be a bidding war between the two for the joint.

According to Page Six, the first time Cammie took a look at the digs was when she and Justin Timberlake were still together and she’s been there a total of three times now, while Ellen stopped at the place just one time.
